Renowned Pakistani actress, model, and host Mathira recently disclosed details about a disturbing chapter of her life during an interview on a private TV channel.
The actress opened up about the circulation of explicit videos in 2021, shedding light on how these were created, and distributed, and the action she took to address the matter.
Speaking candidly, Mathira revealed that the videos, which went viral on social media, were fabricated and edited by a man from Jhang.
The individual allegedly sold the manipulated content for an average price of Rs 2,000, leading to its widespread circulation. Mathira stated that she promptly contacted cybercrime authorities, who investigated the matter and identified the culprit.
"The man was not only involved in distributing my videos but was also selling indecent content of other women," she said. Mathira, however, expressed uncertainty about whether the other videos were genuine or similarly doctored.

Reflecting on her experience, Mathira emphasized the grave impact such incidents can have on women, particularly those without a robust support system. "When a girl faces such an ordeal, it can shatter her life. I was fortunate to have the backing of my family and friends, but not everyone has that privilege," she remarked.
The actress criticized media outlets and social media pages for sensationalizing the incident. "Someone’s personal video or picture is not news," she asserted, calling for more responsible reporting on such matters.
In a previous statement, Mathira had dismissed the viral videos as "deep fakes" created using artificial intelligence (AI). She pointed out discrepancies in the content, such as the absence of her signature tattoos, which proved that the videos were fabricated.
This revelation comes amid increasing concerns about cyber harassment and the misuse of AI technology to create fake videos. Mathira’s case highlights the need for stronger measures to protect individuals, particularly women, from such crimes.
