Pakistani security forces have conducted extensive anti-narcotics operations across the country since September 2023, resulting in substantial drug seizures and arrests.
As of the latest reports, authorities have confiscated 1,049.78 metric tons of various narcotics and apprehended 1,883 drug dealers nationwide. The seizures include 3.66 metric tons of heroin, 47.84 metric tons of hashish, 3.83 metric tons of methamphetamine, 9.25 metric tons of opium, and 985.20 metric tons of other illicit substances.
Recent operations from September 1 to September 10 saw significant drug seizures across all provinces: 278 kg in Balochistan, 23.63 kg in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 11.14 kg in Gilgit-Baltistan, 226.31 kg in Punjab, and 27.73 kg in Sindh.
The government of Pakistan and military leadership initiated this crackdown to combat drug abuse in the country. Relevant agencies remain committed to continuing their efforts to completely eradicate narcotics from Pakistan.
