The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) announced on Friday a change in the date of its Lahore rally due to the celebrations of Eid Miladun Nabi.
According to a statement released by the PTI core committee, the rally, initially scheduled for an earlier date, will now take place on September 22. The core committee’s announcement emphasized that the observance of 12 Rabi-ul-Awwal, marking the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), will be celebrated with religious fervor.
The special programs will be held in Islamabad and other provincial capitals to commemorate the occasion.
Additionally, the statement expressed concerns about the treatment of PTI's founding chairman by the jail administration and praised his nomination for the Oxford University Chancellor position.
The announcement also detailed that the PTI will hold a rally in Islamabad on September 8, with various committees assigned specific responsibilities.
"t has been decided to oppose any bill in the National Assembly that conflicts with the constitution or threatens judicial independence, pledging to challenge such bills in court," said the statement.
The core committee voiced concerns regarding the recounts in NA-181, NA-154, and NA-79, where the PTI-backed candidates were reportedly defeated.
Meanwhile, the support had been directed towards Raees Hassan Mustafa for the NA-171 by-election in Rahim Yar Khan.
