Dhabeji pumping station in Karachi faced significant power outage, significantly affecting the city's water supply. The power disruption resulted in the complete shutdown of all pumps at the station.
According to reports, this recent electricity breakdown occurred at 6 AM, and as of now, power has not been restored at the Dhabeji pumping station.
Consequently, M.S Line no. 5 has once again experienced low pressure, causing a disruption in the water supply to Karachi.
This incident marks the second time in recent weeks that Karachi's Dhabeji pumping station has grappled with a power outage, resulting in water shortages for Karachi residents.
A spokesperson from the Water Corporation explained that the 72-inch diameter Line No. 5, responsible for supplying water across Karachi, has been impacted by the power outage.
Water Corporation officials are currently on-site, conducting a thorough inspection to determine the root cause of the issue.
The chief engineer of the Bulkwater Corporation assured residents that efforts are underway to promptly restore the affected line, with the aim of minimizing any inconveniences caused by water supply disruptions.
In the meantime, alternative lines have been activated to redirect the city's water supply while repair work is carried out.
