Pakistan's security forces have intensified their nationwide anti-narcotics campaign, seizing over 1,047 metric tons of drugs and arresting 1,761 dealers since September 2023. This operation, initiated by the government and military leadership, aims to combat drug abuse across the country.
The confiscated narcotics include 3.58 metric tons of heroin, 46.71 metric tons of hashish, 3.75 metric tons of meth, 8.99 metric tons of opium, and 984.74 metric tons of other illicit substances. Recent operations from August 11 to August 25 resulted in significant seizures across various regions, with Punjab reporting the highest amount at 117.189 kg.
Authorities remain committed to their goal of completely eradicating drugs from Pakistan, continuing their efforts through targeted operations and arrests.
