As Pakistan's Independence Day approaches, Lahore City Traffic Police Officer (CTO) Amara Athar has announced stringent measures to curb dangerous driving practices, including one-wheeling and riding motorcycles without silencers.
Speaking with SAMAA TV, CTO Lahore, emphasized that the Traffic Response Unit has been tasked with enforcing these regulations to ensure public safety during the celebrations.
CTO Amara Athar stated that anyone caught engaging in one-wheeling or riding a motorcycle without a silencer will face legal action, including arrests. "We are committed to ensuring that the rules are followed in every way on Independence Day. The Traffic Response Unit will be actively monitoring the streets, and violators will be dealt with strictly," she said.
To maintain order, the City Traffic Police will deploy 50 motorcycle-mounted wardens across Lahore.
These wardens will patrol the city throughout the day, focusing on hotspots known for reckless driving. The initiative aims to create a safe environment for all citizens as they celebrate Independence Day.
CTO Amara Athar also reiterated that law enforcement will be rigorously upheld during the celebrations. "Our goal is to ensure that the spirit of Independence Day is celebrated responsibly, with full compliance to the law," she added.
