The civilian and military leadership efforts to restore the country’s economy and alleviate the electricity crisis are beginning to show promising results. A rigorous crackdown on electricity theft has led to the recovery of a staggering 107.54 billion rupees nationwide, and the arrest of over 83,000 electricity thieves.
In August alone, relevant institutions collected more than Rs1.03 billion from electricity thieves in Lahore, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Multan, and Islamabad. Additionally, 680 million rupees were recovered from Peshawar, Hyderabad, Sukkur, and Quetta.
Authorities are committed to continuing their operations until electricity theft is completely eradicated across the country, ensuring a more stable and efficient power supply for all citizens.
