Due to heavy rains and severe flooding, Yarkhun Valley in Chitral has been completely cut off from Mastuj. The flooding has also caused significant damage in Arsoon and Kalash valleys, where reports indicate widespread destruction.
The intense flooding has resulted in the loss of crops, shops, and several houses, as the waters swept them away.
In response to the crisis, Frontier Corps (North) has launched an emergency rescue operation. The forces are actively evacuating residents to safe locations to ensure their safety amidst the ongoing disaster.
With rain forecasts continuing for the area, all relevant agencies are on high alert and are actively working to manage the situation and mitigate further damage.
