A visiting Canadian civil aviation department team has found the aviation security arrangements at Karachi airport to be satisfactory and in line with international standards.
The two-member Transport Canada team completed a thorough assessment and analysis of the airport's aviation security measures.
Led by Barbara Durette and also comprising Abdel Tahir, the team had reached Karachi on a three-day visit for aviation security assessment on July 15. The purpose of the team's inspection was to test the aviation security at Karachi airport on international standards.
The assessment also included an evaluation of additional security measures specifically for Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flights to Canada. The chief security officer of Karachi airport gave a briefing regarding the security arrangements on the premises.
The team noted that the airport's security arrangements met the necessary international standards, ensuring safe and secure operations. Their inspection process involved a detailed analysis of the airport's security infrastructure and procedures, highlighting the effectiveness of the measures in place.
At the conclusion of the inspection, a farewell ceremony was held at the office of CSO Karachi airport. The Canadian team expressed satisfaction with the security arrangements and commended the efforts of the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) of Pakistan in maintaining high standards of aviation security.
