Independent candidates backed by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) have challenged the election results of three seats of the National Assembly in Islamabad over allegations of electoral rigging.
Aamir Mughal, an independent candidate from NA-46, Shoaib Shaheen from NA-47, and Ali Bukhari from NA-48 have all contested the election outcomes in the election tribunal, claiming that the results were altered and rigged in the February 8 elections.
These candidates have asserted that the integrity of the electoral process was compromised, leading to discrepancies in the declared results. Consequently, they are seeking legal recourse to address the alleged irregularities and ensure fair representation in the National Assembly.
The PTI candidates have sought de-notification of the Pakistan Muslim League-N MNAs declared successful in these constituencies.

The request reflects growing concerns over the legitimacy of the election outcomes and underscores the need for transparency and accountability in the electoral process.
On February 23, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) reinstated the suspended notification of successful candidates from three constituencies in Islamabad. The decision came after the commission had initially suspended the notifications on January 11, following an order from the Islamabad High Court.
The ECP had restored the notification of victory for the successful candidates in NA-46, NA-47, and NA-48 -- all of whom belonged to the PML-N -- under Section 98-1 of the Elections Act 2017.
Therefore, the victory notification for PML-N's Anjum Aqeel from NA-46, Tariq Fazal Chaudhry from NA-47, and party-backed independent candidate Raja Khurram Nawaz from NA-48 stood reinstated.
