Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce officially retired from the NFL after 13 seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles.
His retirement press conference was emotional with his family and brother, Travis Kelce of the Kansas City Chiefs, in attendance. Kelce expressed gratitude for his time in Philadelphia, highlighting the bond with the city and the team.
He was drafted by the Eagles in 2011 and played under four different head coaches. Kelce was a seven-time Pro Bowler and a six-time All-Pro selection.
Despite his accolades, Kelce described himself as an underdog and drew motivation from doubters throughout his career. He will be eligible for the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2029.
Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie praised Kelce's contributions to the team and the city. Offensive line coach Jeff Stoutland thanked Kelce for his dedication and leadership. Kelce's iconic speech during the Eagles' Super Bowl parade in 2018 will be remembered as a defining moment in Philadelphia sports history.
