He hoped that the tournament will be happen in a fine way and resolved to participate in the mega-event with the verve.
The English skipper was of the view that boycotting the match against Afghanistan will not resolve any issue.
Afghanistan and England are scheduled to lock horns against each other in the Champions Trophy on February 26 in Lahore.
It is pertinent to note that the British parliament had put forward the demand to boycott the match against Afghanistan.
The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) had already denounced the parliament's demand to boycott the match against the rising talent from South Asia.
Afghanistan had proved their mettle in the white-ball format with the great perfection and brilliance. They outfoxed the giants of the game like England and Pakistan in 2023 World Cup.
But they even made more impact in the T20I format by sealing the semi-final spot in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024.
During their T20 World Cup campaign in the Caribbean, Afghanistan had managed to dismantle the opponents like Australia and New Zealand in no time.
Additionally, they had also set a template to beat the minnows like Uganda—the Cricket Cranes—clinically.
Not only this, but Afghanistan had also registered a Test series victory agianst Zimbabwe recently.
