Colin Munro’s blistering 47-ball 82 and Alex Hales’s brilliant 35-ball 47 powered Islamabad United to a seven-wicket victory against Karachi Kings in the 15th match of the ninth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) in Karachi on Wednesday.
ISLAMABAD UNITED'S INNINGS
Chasing a target of 166, the United completed the target with nine balls remaining when Agha Salman smashed Hasan Ali for a six.
Colin Munro bagged a player of the match award for hammering a 47-ball 82.
Alex Hales also compiled a 35-ball 47.
Agha Salman remained unbeaten on the 17-ball 25. United skipper Shadab Khan also remained unbeaten, scoring 11-ball 10.
Imad Wasim was removed by Shamsi on 0 (2).
Hasan Ali (1-42), Tabraiz Shamsi (1-34), and Mohammad Nawaz (1-23) bagged a wicket apiece.
KARACHI KINGS' INNINGS
Kieron Pollard’s unbeaten 28-ball 48 and Irfan Khan’s 22-ball 27 powered the Karachi Kings to 165-5 in the 15th match of the ninth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) in Karachi on Wednesday.
After being put in to bat, the Kings lost five wickets for 89, but it was Pollard, who showed resistance with the bat, along with Irfan Khan.
Shan Masood played a cautious 30-ball 27, and Leus du Plooy (24 off 15) looked good for a while. But Hunain Shah removed Masood, while Salman got rid of du Plooy.
For the United, Imad Wasim (1-20), Naseem Shah (1-29), Agha Salman (1-17) and Hunain Shah (1-30) took a scalp apiece.
Earlier, Islamabad United, Islamabad United won the toss and chose to field.
