Pakistani Ambassador to China, Khalil Hashmi, has said that vast business opportunities are available for Pakistani entrepreneurs in China, especially in sectors such as solar energy, electric vehicles (EVs), real estate, and engineering.
Speaking at a business networking event jointly organized by the Pakistani Embassy in China and a private company on Saturday, Ambassador Hashmi encouraged Pakistani businessmen to explore China’s evolving market and build strong partnerships with local companies.
The event saw participation from a large number of business leaders, including heads of Pakistani engineering and construction firms based in China. Detailed discussions were held on how to enhance Pakistani involvement in the Chinese market, particularly in the engineering sector, which has shown remarkable growth.
“Around 100 Pakistani companies operated in the engineering sector in China last year. This year, the number has doubled to 200,” Ambassador Hashmi highlighted, pointing to the rising interest and success of Pakistani firms in the region.
MoUs signed across key sectors
A key highlight of the event was the signing of several memorandums of understanding (MoUs) between Pakistani and Chinese companies. These agreements span multiple sectors, including engineering, and aim to facilitate smoother collaboration, investment, and knowledge sharing between the two countries.
Ambassador Hashmi reiterated the government’s commitment to promoting bilateral trade and investment under the broader framework of China-Pakistan cooperation. He also encouraged more Pakistani businesses to explore opportunities in China’s booming green energy and infrastructure sectors.
