Following a series of meetings between various political parties over the last two days on formation of the next government, it has been revealed that the PML-N has accepted to lead the upcoming federal government only after a clear guarantee.
According to PML-N sources, the Pakistan People's Party will not bring a no-confidence motion in the National Assembly against the PML-N after taking the president’s slot.
The sources say that as per an agreed formula for government formation, there will be no hurdles or no-confidence motions against the PML-N-led coalition government for its entire five-year term.
They further added that the PPP will not bring a no-confidence motion against the PML-N government after taking the president’s position.
The PML-N will form a government with allies, but the prime minister will be allowed to complete his term, the sources said, adding that the PML-N will also support the government formed in Balochistan.

The sources further said that under the reconciliation formula, a principled decision was also taken to devise an economic charter.
PML-N discusses possible names for federal cabinet
Meanwhile, PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif met his brother and party supremo Nawaz Sharif to brief him after meeting with various allied leaders. The duo discussed names of the people expected to be handed portfolios in the possibly 25-member federal cabinet.
Sources said that giving three to five federal ministries to MQM leaders, possibly including Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Farooq Sattar, Mustafa Kamal, Aminul Haq, and Khawaja Izhar, were also discussed.
Moreover, the names of 15 senior PML-N leaders were also considered for inclusion in the list of federal ministers.
Earlier, the PML-N again extended an invitation to former president Asif Zardari to join the cabinet in a power-sharing formula for portfolios. The move came as part of a broader strategy by the PML-N to solidify its position in the government and strengthen its alliances.
Sources revealed that the PML-N was in the process of establishing a committee tasked with allocating ministries to its allies. The committee will work diligently to ensure that each party within the alliance is appropriately represented in the government.
Additionally, the committee will keep alliance party leadership informed throughout the decision-making process. Amidst these developments, the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) is reportedly seeking to join the government as well.
