The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has announced the official public holiday marking the birthday of Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) for the private sector.
Arab media reports that private sector employees will get a paid holiday on September 29 (Friday).
It means along with the Friday holiday, the private sector employees in the UAE will have the usual Saturday-Sunday off.
The weekend has turned now into a three-day weekend—similar to that of the public sector.
It is reported that this will be the last long weekend of the year.
Later this year, the UAE residents will mark National Day holidays on December 2 and 3 (Saturday and Sunday).
