Pakistan People's Party (PPP) stalwart Palwasha Khan expressed on Monday his concerns about potential disruptions on the day of the upcoming elections, fearing that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) may resort to quarrelsome tactics.
Speaking to the media in Islamabad, Khan alleged that PML-N members have a history of entering offices and engaging in thuggish behavior, including the kidnapping of individuals.
The PPP leader also stressed that such actions create an environment of fear and intimidation, undermining the democratic process.
She specifically pointed out Atta Tarar, a prominent figure within the PML-N, stating that his tone and behavior suggest a sense of desperation and fear of defeat.
Accusing the PML-N of a longstanding practice of buying and selling votes, Palwasha warned that the PPP would not tolerate any threats from Tarar.
"In the face of Atta Tarar's threats, we will not bow down. It is evident that PML-N is resorting to its old habits, and Atta Tarar's actions are indicative of his anticipation of defeat," said Palwasha Khan.
"The Election Commission must keep a vigilant eye on the situation and take prompt notice of any attempts to disrupt the electoral process. The integrity of the elections is paramount for a fair and democratic outcome," stated the PPP leader.
