Mariam Francois has been trending on social media platforms since the program with BBC in which she defended the Yemeni Houthi targeting Israeli ships to press Western allies of Israel for a ceasefire in the Gaza battleground where over 25,000 Gazans were mercilessly butchered by the Israeli Defence Forces (IDF).

Who is Myriam François?
Myriam François was born in 1982. His father was French while his mother was Irish. Maryam played the role of Mehmood Dashwood in the 1995 film 'Sense and Sensibility' as a child actor, starring Kate Winslet and Emma Thompson among other popular actors.
However, after 9/11 in 2001, Maryam's view of Islam changed. She was then currently studying at Cambridge University.
In 2011 an episode of the BBC Sounds podcast 'Heart and Soul', Maryam spoke about herself, her studies, and her family background in in detail. She said that after the 9/11 attacks, she started to feel a lot of tension in the university.

“Earlier we used to see Muslims as common people but after this incident, we started seeing them as a separate identity. So it came to my heart to know more about them.”
He also said in another interview that in the university he met Muslims for the first time who followed the teachings of Islam and they were good people.

Myriam François said that during that time she started to understand the Quran and continued to research and study it for two years, after which she accepted Islam in the year 2003.

Myriam François is a journalist and filmmaker. Her documentary 'Finding Allah' has won several awards while she has worked as a presenter, producer, and filmmaker for international broadcasters such as BBC, Al Jazeera, and TRT World.
He completed his PhD in 2017 on Islamic Movements in Morocco.
