In the aftermath of the elections, uncertainty looms over 81 seats in the Punjab Assembly as Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) struggles to determine candidates.
The party faced challenges in identifying contenders for three seats in Lahore’s National Assembly and nine in the Provincial Assembly. Independent candidates emerged in Chakwal, Wazirabad, Hafizabad, Khushab, Chiniot, Nankana Sahib, Lodhran, Muzaffargarh, and Kot Addu.
Decisions are pending for two provincial assembly seats in Attock, five in Rawalpindi, and two in Jhelum. Mandi Bahauddin witnessed uncertainty on two seats, while Sialkot and Narowal faced ambiguity on three and two seats, respectively. Gujranwala, Sargodha, and Mianwali have seven, three, and one vacant seats, respectively. PTI grapples with candidate identification on three seats in Bhakkar, one in Chiniot, and three in Faisalabad.
Toba Tek Singh contends with undetermined candidates on four seats, while Jhang faces uncertainty on three seats and Sheikhupura on one. Kasur, Okara, Pakpattan, and Sahiwal collectively await decisions on nine seats.
Khanewal confronts ambiguity on three seats, with Multan and Vehari uncertain on one each. Two seats in Bahawalnagar, Bahawalpur, Rahim Yar Khan Duwar, and one seat in the Provincial Assembly of Layyah remain undecided.
Furthermore, Taunsa, Dera Ghazi Khan, and Rajanpur are yet to finalize decisions on one, three, and one seat, respectively. The single seat of Murree, PP-6, also awaits a candidate determination decision.
