In a recent development within the upper echelons of the Chaudhry family, Pakistan Muslim League - Quaid (PML-Q) Chief Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain has taken legal action against his cousin and senior party leader Chaudhry Parvez Elahi.
The legal dispute revolves around the partition of the ancestral home, Zahoor Palace, and has brought internal party matters into the public eye.
Chaudhry Shujaat has officially approached the civil court seeking a division of the Zahoor Palace property. The court, responding to the urgency of the matter, has issued an injunction on any ongoing construction activities at the residence and has ordered a halt to any alterations to the current state of the property.
Meanwhile, the court has summoned Chaudhry Shujaat's cousins, including Parvez Elahi, Qaisara Elahi, Samira Elahi, and Kishore Sultana, to appear before it on January 19 for further proceedings.
In the petition submitted to the court, Chaudhry Shujaat alleged that Parvez Elahi and his sisters are attempting to unlawfully rename the residence after Parvez Elahi himself.
Furthermore, Chaudhry Shujaat claimed that there is an illegitimate effort to evict him from the property, a move he contends is both unjust and illegal.
Responding to the legal action taken against him, Chaudhry Parvez Elahi has also applied to the court. In his plea, Elahi has requested the court to intervene and order a fair division of the property among the concerned parties.
