The German actor, recognized for his work in the 2023 Indiana Jones film and other hits like Speed Racer and The Good German, was on a holiday when the small aircraft he was aboard crashed into the sea off Bequia, part of St. Vincent.
Oliver's extensive career included stunt work for Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, adding to his legacy as an accomplished actor and stuntman. Hailing from Frankfurt, Germany, he had relocated to the United States to further his career, leaving an indelible mark in the entertainment industry.
The tragic incident occurred as the plane, piloted by Robert Sachs, encountered difficulties shortly after takeoff from J.F. Mitchell Airport in Paget Farm. Despite rescue efforts by local fishermen, divers, and the SVG Coast Guard, all four occupants, including the pilot, were pronounced dead at the scene.
