Intel announced on Wednesday the establishment of a new independent company focused on its artificial intelligence (AI) software endeavors.
Named Articul8 AI, the entity emerges from Intel's collaboration with Boston Consulting Group (BCG) on corporate AI technology.
The company, set to have an independent board of directors, receives support from investors such as DigitalBridge Group and others. Intel did not disclose the deal's value or specify its retained stake in Articul8 AI.
The new venture addresses concerns about data privacy and security by utilising Intel's generative AI system, developed in-house and adapted to run within BCG's data centers.
Arun Subramaniyan, formerly with Intel's data centre and AI group, will serve as Articul8's CEO, emphasising the venture's focus on making generative AI implementation safe, cost-effective, and scalable for production use.
This move aligns with Intel's strategy of seeking external capital for specific business units, following the spin-out of Mobileye Global and plans for an IPO for its programmable chip unit.
Investors in Articul8 include DigitalBridge, Fin Capital, Mindset Ventures, Communitas Capital, GiantLeap Capital, GS Futures, and Zain Group.
