Legendary Bollywood actress Mumtaz participated in the 'New Year Special Show' on Samaa TV, hosted by actor Ahsan Khan.
Mumtaz along with her sister Malika and a scriptwriter was recently on a 20-day visit to Lahore and Karachi to meet her fans here. She concluded the visit at the end of last month.
During the interview to host and actor Ahsan Khan on the Samaa TV show, the veteran actress said her biggest fans in the world were Pakistanis, from whom she always received a lot of love and admiration.

When asked which Pakistani actors she would like to work with, Mumtaz instantly replied: Fawad Khan and Ahsan Khan himself.
Further during the conversation, the veteran actress revealed that late Bollywood film star Shammi Kapoor had proposed to her for marriage, but she refused, as she was just 16 years old at that time and wanted to work further, while the Kapoor family did not want their daughter-in-law to work.
During the interview, Ahsan asked who her favourite actress ever was, to which Mumtaz replied Madhubala. “I was 13 years old when I met her. Her name was also Mumtaz.”

Mumtaz was also known for her exceptional dancing skills, which she displayed in several iconic songs during her career, including ‘Yeh Reshmi Zulfain’, ‘Bindiya Chamkegi’, ‘Chhup Gaye Saray Nazare’ and ‘Aaj Kal Tere Mere Pyar Ke Charche’, are still popular even after six decades.
When asked about learning the skill, the actress said she learned dance at the age of 12.
Speaking about her meeting with ghazal legend Ghulam Ali and Noor Jehan, she said she met the icons in London.
Mumtaz started her career at the age of seven and her first salary was Rs350. At the age of 14, she starred in her first mainstream film 'Faulad’ opposite wrestler and actor Dara Singh.

In her later years, Mumtaz starred opposite the then superstar Rajesh Khanna in 14 films all of which were declared superhits; their first together was 'Bandhan'. Throughout her career, Mumtaz delivered hit after hit and was declared a phenomenon in a short span of time.
She has worked with actors Feroz Khan, Dharmendra, Sanjeev Kumar, Jitendra and Shammi Kapoor among others. She has also worked with the legendary Dilip Kumar in ‘Ram Aur Shaam’, which was her first breakthrough as a mainstream heroine.

It should be noted that it has been 40 years since actress Mumtaz said goodbye to the film industry and moved to London after her marriage at a very early age.
During her stay in Pakistan, Mumtaz met with several film stars, singers and showbiz personalities, including Mahira Khan, Resham, Shafqat Amanat Ali Khan, Ghulam Ali, Fawad Khan. Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, and film director Asim Raza among others.
