National Democratic Movement leader Mohsin Dawar’s vehicle was targeted by unknown gunmen on Wednesday in the North Waziristan district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
As per reports, Mohsin Dawar survived the attack due to the vehicle being bulletproof.
Unknown assailants open multiple bullets on the rear mirror of the former MNA and partner of the former coalition government of the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM). Mohsin has been in the Northern Waziristan for his election campaign.
According to the police, Mohsin Dawar is unharmed in the attack and has been shifted to a nearby safe place.
Police said that the forces personnel are present at the spot and the search for the accused has been started.
Earlier, bodies of six men shot to death were found in fields Tuesday in North Waziristan, a tribal district in Pakistan's northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province bordering Afghanistan.
The deceased were identified as barbers from Pakistan’s eastern province of Punjab.
Speaking to VOA’s Urdu service, District Police Officer Roohan Zeb Khan declared the deaths a terror incident. He said the killings were being investigated and the bodies would be handed over to families after identification is completed.
Haji Mujtaba, a local journalist, said all the barbers ran shops in the same market in Mir Ali, the second-largest town in North Waziristan. He said the men were kidnapped a day earlier.
