Several personnel of the Pakistan Army have been rendering sacrifices for the defence of Pakistan. Lance Naik Sagheer Ahmed, of Khanewal district, is one such soldier, who sacrificed his life for the defence of Pakistan.
His courageous journey in the Pakistan Army's Frontier Force Regiment began in 2006, and rose to the rank of lance naik in a short service span through dedication and hard work.
On December 12, a major clean-up operation was initiated in a remote area of Dera Ismail Khan, aiming to eradicate terrorism. Amidst intense encounters with terrorists, numerous young soldiers of the Pakistan Army courageously faced the challenge head-on.

Among them was Lance Naik Sagheer Ahmed, a remarkable soldier whose unyielding determination and courage led him to volunteer for this arduous operation. The Pakistan Army besieged the terrorists, which led to an intense exchange of fire.
Displaying exceptional bravery and engaged the terrorists, ultimately receiving a bullet that cost him his life on December 12, 2023.
Lance Naik Sagheer Ahmed has left behind his parents, a widow, and his infant children.
His father recalled his passion for education and his desire to serve the nation in the army since childhood. He said he was proud of his son’s martyrdom.
Sagheer’s widow said she and her children missed him a lot, but they were proud of his sacrifice.
She remarked that she would raise her children well and make them follow in the footsteps of their father.
“My son will grow up to make Pakistan proud,” she stressed.
Sagheer’s daughter also shared her father’s love for her and said she would become a doctor once she grows up.
His brother recalled how Sagheer would encourage them all to join the army after his own induction in the force. He said he was proud to see his martyr brother’s body, because he sacrificed his life for the country.
