The efforts to establish peace in Chitral are bearing fruit, as the Kalash winter festival of Choimus has kicked off with great fervor.
The historic Choimus festival of the Kalash tribe in Chitral has officially begun in the Bamboret, Birir and Rumbur valleys in Lower Chitral.
The festival, which started on December 16, will conclude on December 22 during which various traditions will be celebrated, including animal sacrifice, preparation of different foods from flour, bonfire, and many others.
A large number of local and foreign tourists are visiting the valley to witness this historic festival in the Kalash valley.
Meanwhile, YouTubers and vloggers have been banned from making videos during the Choimus winter festival.

This was decided during a meeting regarding the security arrangements for the festival, held under the chairmanship of Qaiser Raza of the Chitral Scouts 146 Wing at the Bamboret Officer's Mess.
The meeting was also attended by police representatives, tourism department representatives, media, and heads of institutions concerned, as well as local elders, the Qazi of the Kailash tribe, and representatives of the hotel association.
The officers reviewed in detail the arrangements for the festival. They issued instructions to the heads of the institutions concerned to provide cleanliness, security, and all possible facilities to the tourists.
