The Supreme Court’s Justice Sardar Tariq Masood has taken oath as the acting chief justice of Pakistan.
He was administered the oath by senior judge, Justice Ijazul Ahsan.
Apart from the judges of the Supreme Court and Lahore High Court, the attorney general for Pakistan, retired judges, senior lawyers and families of the judges participated in the swearing-in ceremony.
After the approval of the president, the Ministry of Law issued a notification for the appointment of Justice Sardar Tariq Masood as the acting chief justice of Pakistan.
He will perform the duties of the acting CJP for two weeks. He has been made the acting top judge after CJP Qazi Faez Isa went abroad on vacation.
