Two fossilized bodies of two alleged "alien" beings said to be 1,000 years old were exhibited in a special session of the Mexican Congress on Tuesday.
The bodies were presented by journalist and UFO scientist Jaime Maussan, who claimed that they were not part of the evolution of our world and were found fossilized in a diatom moss mine in Cusco, Peru.
Maussan said that the samples were analysed by the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) and that scientists were able to obtain DNA samples and apply radiocarbon testing to determine their age.
However, he did not provide any further details about the testing or the results.
The fossils were found to be covered with a layer of sand, which Maussan said could be explained by the fact that they were buried in a mine.
He also argued that the public has the right to learn about non-human beings and technologies.

Maussan was accompanied at the session by former US pilot Ryan Graves and Avi Loeb, professor of astrophysics at Harvard University. Graves also presented evidence at a hearing in the US Congress in July.
The presentation of the fossilized bodies has been met with scepticism by some scientists, who say that there is no evidence to support Maussan's claims. However, others have said that the discovery is worth further investigation.
It is still too early to say whether the fossilized bodies are actually of extraterrestrial origin. However, the presentation of the bodies in the Mexican Congress has reignited the debate about the possibility of alien life.
The fossilized bodies are about 15 centimetres tall and have humanoid features, such as a head, torso, and limbs.
The bodies are said to be in good condition, with little to no signs of decomposition.
The diatom moss mine where the bodies were found is located in a remote area of Peru.
The UNAM scientists who analysed the bodies have not released any details about their findings.
Maussan has a long history of making claims about UFOs and alien life, many of which have been debunked.
