Preparations are in full swing for the upcoming and highly-anticipated final season of 'Stranger Things,' set to begin filming in January.
The start date had faced a delay of over seven months due to strikes from both the Writers Guild of America and the Screen Actors Guild‐American Federation of Television and Radio Artists.
Reassuringly, the entire cast, including familiar names like Noah Schnapp, Winona Ryder, and Millie Bobby Brown, is slated to make a return for this concluding season.
The cast will welcome 'Terminator' star Linda Hamilton, and the directorial expertise of Dan Trachtenberg, renowned for his work on 'Prey' and '10 Cloverfield Lane,' who will be at the helm for at least one episode.
This is in addition to the regular directors, the Duffer brothers, and the returning Shawn Levy, who is also reprising his role as an executive producer.
In a tease back in September, Shawn Levy promised that Season 5 would deliver "major, major cinematic storytelling" and be "as grand as any of the biggest movies that we see."
Although the premiere of Season 5 is not expected before 2025, fans have an additional treat to look forward to – 'Stranger Things: The First Shadow.'
This stage play, set in Hawkins, Indiana, in 1959, will debut on December 14 at the Phoenix Theater in London’s West End.
The play delves into the origins of key characters from the show, with the script crafted by 'Stranger Things' writer and co-executive producer Kate Trefry, based on an original story collaboratively developed by the Duffer brothers, Jack Thorne, and Trefry.
