The New Zealand women’s cricket team started the one-day international series against Pakistan with a victory by a huge margin of 131 in the first of the series.
In the first match of the three-match ODI series played in Queenstown, the host Kiwis batted first and scored 365 runs at a loss of four wickets in the allotted overs.

With 86 and 83 runs, Bernadine Bezuidenhout and Amelia Kerr played impressive innings, respectively, while captain Sophie Devine played an innings of 70 runs.
For Pakistan, Fatima Sana, Nashra Sindhu, and Umm-e-Hani claimed one wicket each.

Chasing the target of 366 runs, the entire Team Green collapsed at 234 runs in 49.5 overs. Sidra Amin's brilliant innings of 105 runs also went in vain. Among other bats persons Muniba Ali played an innings of 44, and Bisma Maroof and Alia Riaz scored 14 runs each.
From the Kiwis, Amelia Kerr claimed three wickets for the host team. Suzy Bates was adjudged the player of the match.
