Frontier Constabulary (FC) Balochistan wing on Sunday conducted six anti-smuggling operations across various districts of Balochistan along with customs and other institutions.
The operations targeted smuggling activities in Mastung, Nushki, and Dera Murad Jamali.
Sources report that FC Balochistan intercepted passenger buses during the operations, uncovering hundreds of kilograms of sugar, urea fertilizer, and other prohibited items.
These items were believed to be part of a larger smuggling operation.
The confiscated items included 11,100 kilograms of sugar, 30,000 kilograms of urea fertilizer, cigarettes, Gukta, cloth, tires, vehicle oil and other prohibited items.
The estimated value of the seized goods runs into millions of rupees.
Smugglers attempted to transport these items through trucks and passenger buses, but authorities successfully thwarted their attempts.
The confiscated goods were handed over to customs authorities for further processing.
However, in response to the crackdown, smugglers have blocked the Lak Pass road, demanding the release of their apprehended accomplices.
Authorities suspect the road blockade is a desperate attempt by smugglers and their sympathizers to save their illicit activities.
