In an effort to combat mobile phone snatching across the province, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) police have launched a new mobile application called "Find My Cell".
The app was unveiled by Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Ashfaq Anwar, DIG IT Irfan Khan, and SSP Operations Kashif Aftab Abbasi at the Malik Saad Shaheed Police Lines.
Providing details about the app, the CCPO explained that it will connect local police stations with registered mobile dealers to deter the sale of stolen phones.
He further stated that mobile dealers will be required to register with the police and associations after undergoing verification.
An official informed a local media outlet that registered dealers will maintain a record of every individual who sells them a phone on a police-provided form.
This information will then be uploaded to a database accessible through the Find My Cell app.
The CCPO emphasized their commitment to utilizing technology to curb mobile phone snatching and theft.
He also mentioned that the police are implementing various measures to improve the law and order situation in the province.
