A woman and three children were found dead Thursday with their throats slit at their house in the port city Karachi area of Sher Muhammad Goth in Gulistan-e-Jauhar.
The deceased were identified as Saima wife of Arshad, two-year-old Ahd، Shahzain, 7, and 9-year-old Ashh.
Karachi police arrested the husband of the deceased woman Arshad for investigation works as a cable operator and at the time of the incident he was ‘not at home’.
Allegedly, Arshad is an ice addict.
Imdad Ali, the uncle of the deceased children while talking to the media said he received a call from his brother Arshad around 12:30 am after he reached home and upon reaching, he saw the body of his elder nephew on the porch of his home, while the bodies of two other children and sister-in-law were lying in the separate rooms.
FIR registered
Police lodged an FIR on the complaint of Aslam Baloch, father of the victim female. The plaintiff said that at half past one in the night, his son-in-law knocked on the door of the house and claimed someone had killed his wife and children. The dead bodies were shifted to Jinnah Hospital.
He blamed his son-in-law for the murder of his daughter and grandchildren for unknown reasons.
Police registered a case and started an investigation.
Who is accused Arhsad?
Police said a case was already registered against accused Arshad earlier, for possession of illegal weapons in Aziz Bhatti police station. Arshad is a drug addict person.
Accused brother's statement
The accused's brother said that the incident was reported at 1 AM.
“My brother Arshad told me he brought milk for the children and upon returned he found that sister-in-law and children's necks were cut,” he said.
“Brother was cable operator and there was no shortage of money,” brother of the accused told Police.
“Arshad has three plots and receives rent. My brother used to spend a lot on the children and he was the drug Ice. On the basis of suspicion, the police arrested the Arshad,” he added.
The post-mortem of the bodies has been completed.
