The Comedy Wildlife Photography Awards have announced the winners of their 2023 contest, highlighting hilarious snapshots of animals in the wild to support the work of wildlife-conservation charities.
This year's overall winning image shows a kangaroo appearing to play an air guitar.
Other photos show animals such as otters, owls, and monkeys displaying expressive faces and poses.
Photographer Dakota Vaccaro captured a hilarious image of a young grey fox that appears to be smoking a cigar.
Vaccaro was working deep in the Virginian woods when he spotted the fox family playing with a piece of wood that resembled a cigar.
"Snowball" by Jacques Poulard
Photographer Jacques Poulard captured a stunning image of a white grouse in Norway that looks like a snowball with eyes.
The grouse was perched on a rock and looked directly at Poulard as he took the photo.
"That Wasn't Here Yesterday" by Wendy Kaveney
Photographer Wendy Kaveney captured a comical image of a white-winged dove that appears to have flown head-on into a cholla cactus skeleton.
Kaveney was driving in Arizona when she spotted the bird and quickly pulled over to take the photo.
"Look Right, Bro" by Pratick Mondal
Photographer Pratick Mondal captured a funny image of a deer and a macaque in India. The deer was standing in the middle of the road when the macaque came up and started scratching itself.
Mondal took the photo just as the macaque extended its hand towards the deer.
"The Rainforest Dandy" by Delphine Casimir
Photographer Delphine Casimir captured a hilarious image of a monkey in Bali that appears to be posing for a photo.
The monkey was sitting on a branch and looking directly at Casimir as he took the photo.
"Boing" by Lara Mathews
Photographer Lara Mathews captured a playful image of a joey kangaroo in Australia. The joey was boxing with itself when Mathews took the photo.
"Don't Look Down" by Brian Matthews
Photographer Brian Matthews captured a silly image of a puffin in Alaska. The puffin was doing an inverted Snoopy impression while watching jellyfish.
"One For The Family Album" by Zoe Ashdown
Photographer Zoe Ashdown captured a heart-warming image of a gannet family in England. The gannets were posing for a photo with their baby when Ashdown took the picture.
"Monday Blahs" by John Blumenkamp
Photographer John Blumenkamp captured a relatable image of a great grey owl in Wyoming. The owl was looking tired and slumping over after a long day of hunting.
"The Happy Turtle" by Tzahi Finkelstein
Photographer Tzahi Finkelstein captured a delightful image of a swamp turtle in Israel. The turtle was smiling at a dragonfly that was resting on its nose.
"I Finally Learned To Fly...Or Maybe Not" by Tímea Ambrus
Photographer Tímea Ambrus captured a comical image of a ground squirrel in Austria. The squirrel was trying to fly but ended up falling back to the ground.

Photographer Jacek Stankiewicz captured a funny image of two greenfinches in Poland. The birds were arguing with each other when Stankiewicz took the photo.
"Otter Ballerina" by Otter Kwek
Photographer Otter Kwek captured a graceful image of an otter in Singapore. The otter was doing a perfect arabesque.
"Unexpected Plunge" by Vittorio Ricci
Photographer Vittorio Ricci captured a comical image of a striated heron in South Africa. The heron was fishing when it lost its balance and fell into the water.
"Air Guitar Roo" by Jason Moore
Photographer Jason Moore captured the overall winning image of a kangaroo in Australia.
The kangaroo was playing an air guitar when Moore took the photo.
Moore was surprised to see the kangaroo behaving in this way, as kangaroos are typically docile and boring animals. Moore was happy to capture this special moment.
