Justice Mazahar Ali Naqvi Monday has challenged the proceedings of the complaint against the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC).
He pleaded that disclosed assets cannot be the basis of action against the judge and prayed there was never any notice of his assets from the tax authorities.
“The campaign against me is an attack on the judiciary,” Justice Mazahar Naqvi said.
He said SJC sent notice of further proceedings without fixing the objections and SJC’s October 27 press release is a violation of fundamental rights

The meeting of the Supreme Judicial Council will be held today after 2 pm. The Supreme Judicial Council has sought the records of Justice Mazahar's properties including complete records of two plots of Lahore Cantonment and Gulberg-III have been requested.
Justice Mazahar has been facing accusations of assets in excess of income and misuse of powers.
In response, Justice Mazahar Naqvi declared the current council illegal.

The Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) on Friday issued a show cause notice to Supreme Court of Pakistan Justice Mazahir Ali Naqvi.
SAMAA TV quoting sources reported that Justice Sardar Tariq complaint against Justice Mazahir Ali Naqvi.
A meeting of the SJC presided over by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Qazi Faez Isa was convened on Friday.
The gathering aimed to address the complaints against Justice Naqvi relating to his alleged involvement in an audio leak controversy.
On March 10, the Pakistan Bar Council (PBC) lodged a complaint against him with SJC citing "misconduct" due to his purported connection with recent audio leaks.
These leaks allegedly involved him, former Punjab chief minister Chaudhry Parvez Elahi, and others.
It's worth noting that several complaints had been filed against various top court judges including Justice Mazahar Naqvi.
Former CJP Justice Umar Ata Bandial had delegated the task of scrutinizing the complaints against Justice Naqvi to senior judge Justice Sardar Tariq.
On September 25, Justice Sardar Tariq provided his legal advice regarding the complaints against Justice Naqvi.
