The former foreign minister and National Assembly (NA) speaker Gohar Ayub Khan passed away on Friday evening. The funeral prayer will be performed tomorrow at 3pm in his native village Rehana located in the Haripur District of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) province.
He held different ministerial positions during the administration of ex-prime minister Nawaz Sharif.
Gohar Ayub Khan made important contributions to Pakistan's diplomatic efforts and had a long political career that made him a notable figure in the country's history.
He served as the foreign minister and played a crucial role in shaping Pakistan's relationships with other countries during his time in office.
Despite his high-profile career, he maintained a connection with the people and the land from which he hailed.
Gohar Ayub Khan pursued his education at Aitchison College in Lahore and later attended the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst in the United Kingdom.
His father, Field Marshal Ayub Khan, served as the President of Pakistan.
President of Pakistan Arif Alvi, Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar and different political leaders including Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP) President Aleem Khan expressed condolences on the death of Gohar Ayub Khan.
