Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Ataullah Tarar said on Monday that President Arif Alvi would create a constitutional crisis by announcing the election date.
Expressing his thoughts, Mr Tarar took a swipe at President Alvi, saying, "The president did unconstitutional work by appointing the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) members."
"The dollar is depreciating against the rupee, and the president is doing exactly what his party, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has been doing", Mr Tarar.
"They are putting on a spectacle knowing that the economy is getting better. The PTI is creating an atmosphere of uncertainty only for its own narrative," Mr Tarar added.
He was of the view that the caretaker government was not bound to obey the president's orders.

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) stalwart Marriyum Aurangzeb on Monday lashed out at President Dr Arif Alvi.
Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, Ms Aurangzeb said: "They want to see the atmosphere of economic, political, and constitutional crisis in the country".
She schooled the Pakisatan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leadership, saying, "They have neither authority nor political or moral justification for taking such a step. Peace and stability in the country cannot be tolerated by a terrorist sitting in jail."
She further accused the political opponents of being responsible for the current situation in the country, stating, "The enemies of people's progress, livelihood, and bread are responsible for today's situation."
