An Australian woman was arrested for running onto the tarmac at Canberra Airport as she attempted to stop a flight from departing without her.
The incident, captured on camera, showed the woman running past airport security onto the tarmac and gesturing to the pilot to allow her onto the QantasLink flight to Adelaide.
She was taken into custody by the Australian Federal Police (AFP) on Wednesday at 7:30 pm.
Witnesses at the gate saw the event happen and were surprised that no one stepped in.
Dennis Bilic, who recorded it, said people didn't know what to do, and they wondered if anyone would stop her.
Another person, Simon Hales, said the woman was trying to get the pilot's attention and jump up, which made the situation seem strange. He later shared his worry on Facebook.
He explained that the woman missed her flight, went past the staff, ran onto the tarmac, and approached the plane.
Thankfully, the pilot was warned and turned off the plane's engine.
