Preparations have been finalized for the by-election scheduled tomorrow in Umerkot's NA-213 constituency. The distribution of election material is currently underway, according to the Election Commission.
Out of a total of 498 polling stations, 259 have been declared sensitive, while 91 have been marked as highly sensitive. CCTV cameras will be installed at the most sensitive polling stations to ensure transparency and security.
A total of 4,698 polling staff have been deployed across the constituency, while 4,200 police personnel will be on duty to maintain law and order during the voting process. Additionally, Rangers will remain present in the area to support security arrangements.
The Election Commission has also announced that 98 of the polling stations are designated specifically for female voters.
A final list of 18 candidates contesting the by-election has been issued. A tough contest is expected between Pakistan Peoples Party’s Saba Talpur and the joint opposition candidate, Lal Malhi.
