At least nine people, including four Frontier Corps (FC) personnel, were injured in a powerful roadside explosion in the Chamyar Johar area of Mamond tehsil, Bajaur on Tuesday.
According to security sources, a bomb disposal (BD) squad vehicle of the security forces was targeted by a pre-installed improvised explosive device (IED) as it passed through the area. The blast caused significant damage and left several people wounded.
The injured FC personnel have been identified as Hazrat Ali, Zahid, Aleem, and Zarmulla. Among the civilians hurt in the explosion were passers-by Ruhullah, Khaista, Taj, and two children, Jawad and Talha.
All the injured were swiftly shifted to Bar Khalozo Hospital in Mamond tehsil for medical treatment. Hospital sources said some of the injured were in stable condition, while others required further medical attention.
Security forces immediately cordoned off the area and launched an investigation into the incident. A search operation is also underway to trace those responsible for the attack.

Moreover, at least three personnel of the Balochistan Constabulary were martyred while 19 others sustained injuries on Tuesday in a powerful explosion targeting their vehicle on Dasht Road in the Mastung district of Balochistan.
According to a spokesperson for the Balochistan government, the explosion occurred near a truck carrying security personnel. The blast was carried out using a remote-controlled improvised explosive device (IED) planted in a motorcycle parked along the roadside.
The security personnel were reportedly returning from duty when the attack occurred. Following the explosion, law enforcement agencies and rescue teams rushed to the scene and cordoned off the area.
