The picturesque valley of Swat turned into a major tourist hub this Eid, attracting more than 416,000 domestic and foreign visitors during the holidays, with the influx showing no signs of slowing down even after the official break ended.
According to officials, 101 foreign tourists from various countries were also among those who chose Swat as their Eid destination.
Despite the conclusion of the Eid holidays, many tourists have continued to camp at popular tourist spots across the region, including Kalam, Malam Jabba, Fizagat, Bahrain, and Mahodand Lake, further boosting local tourism and the hospitality sector.
Speaking to the media, Saeedur Rehman, spokesperson for the Upper Swat Development Authority (USDA), said, “We had already made necessary arrangements to facilitate the large number of tourists expected during Eid. Security, cleanliness, traffic control, and accommodation facilities were all streamlined to ensure a smooth experience.”
He added that the local administration remains committed to promoting Swat as a safe and welcoming destination. “Tourists are warmly welcomed to Swat,” he said.
