Former Prime Minister and PTI founder Imran Khan spent his third consecutive Eid inside Adiala Jail, as authorities enforced strict security measures around the prison. Due to security concerns, he was unable to join the Eid prayers at the jail’s central mosque, where prisoners and jail staff gathered for the congregation.
Despite being behind bars, Imran Khan remains a significant political figure, and his absence from the Eid prayers highlights the restrictions imposed on him. His supporters have expressed concerns over his isolation, while his legal team continues to push for his release and fair trial.
The government has implemented a special three-day security plan around Adiala Jail. Eight additional checkpoints have been set up, and 200 police personnel have been deployed in three shifts. Officers have also been provided with anti-riot gear to handle any potential demonstrations.
Meanwhile, SP Saddar Division Nabeel Khokhar has been appointed to oversee security outside the prison. Reports suggest that authorities have intensified security following information about a possible protest by political workers demanding Imran Khan’s freedom. A reserve force is also on standby to respond to any emergency situations.
