The Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) had imposed a ban on photography and videography in the operational areas of airports, including apron areas and aircraft maintenance locations.
This restriction applied to all airlines and aviation companies operating within the country. According to sources, the directive was issued after a photograph of a Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) aircraft had been leaked.
The PAA's notice specifically stated that only relevant aircraft engineers and maintenance staff would be allowed to take photos or videos of aircraft during maintenance, and only when deemed necessary.
In case of violations, the PAA announced that disciplinary actions would be taken against the airline employees, including ground handling staff, involved in the breach of this rule. The measure had been introduced as a precautionary step to ensure security and prevent unauthorized photography or videography in sensitive areas of airport operations.
