The much-discussed split between Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik and Indian tennis star Sania Mirza has taken a new turn after a shocking revelation from Shoaib’s sister.
While both Sania and her family have remained silent, Shoaib’s sister has now claimed that Sania was "tired of his affairs."
Family distances itself from Shoaib Malik
Shoaib Malik recently made headlines for his third marriage to Pakistani actress Sana Javed. However, his family’s absence from the wedding raised many eyebrows. In a media report, Shoaib’s sister disclosed that their entire family chose not to attend the ceremony, further fueling speculation about the reasons behind his divorce from Sania.
Sania’s sister, Anam Mirza, had previously confirmed in January 2024 that Sania had taken a khula from Shoaib months before his marriage to Sana. Requesting privacy, Anam had written, "Sania had taken a khula from Shoaib Malik months ago. We wish him well for his new journey."
Shoaib Malik’s bond with his son Izhaan
Shoaib and Sania share a son, Izhaan Mirza Malik, born in 2018. Following their separation, Sania retained primary custody. Shoaib, who has faced criticism for not being around his son often, recently spoke about their relationship on a Ramadan TV show. He shared that he visits Izhaan twice a month in Dubai and personally takes him to school.
"The relationship I share with him is one of friendship. He calls me bro, and sometimes I call him bro too. We connect every day through video calls," Shoaib revealed.
Controversial personal life
Shoaib Malik’s personal life has remained a subject of public interest. His first marriage to Ayesha Siddiqui ended in 2010, followed by his high-profile wedding with Sania Mirza the same year. While there were past rumours of his involvement with actress Sayali Bhagat, he dismissed them. His sudden marriage to Sana Javed earlier this year sparked fresh controversy, especially with his family’s noticeable absence.
With these new claims from his sister, the mystery surrounding Shoaib and Sania’s divorce continues to deepen.
