Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Omer Ayub Khan has responded to unusual allegations of "stealing biscuits from a truck" while addressing media outside the Peshawar High Court on Wednesday.
"I have been accused of stealing biscuits from a truck," Ayub stated during his press interaction, without elaborating on the details or origin of these allegations. He further noted that "no one comes to court willingly," referencing his recent legal challenges.
The opposition leader revealed that following his bail cancellation at a Rawalpindi court, police were present at the proceedings, suggesting preparations for his potential arrest.
Addressing his party's absence from the recent National Security Committee (NSC) meeting, Ayub explained that they had requested a meeting with their party's founder and former Prime Minister Imran Khan before attending the NSC session.
"We had requested in writing that we be allowed to meet our founding chairman Imran Khan before the National Security Committee meeting," Ayub stated. "When our meeting request was denied, we decided not to attend."
Ayub also pointed out that political parties from Balochistan province likewise abstained from the National Security Committee meeting. "Balochistan is burning," he remarked, referring to the ongoing security situation in the province.
The opposition leader emphasized that his party has "strongly condemned" the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), a separatist group responsible for several attacks in the region.
