Pakistan has strongly rejected the recent remarks made by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi regarding the Kashmir issue in a podcast interview with Lex Fridman, calling them "misleading and one-sided".
In an official statement, Foreign Office Spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan condemned Modi's remarks, stating that India’s portrayal of itself as a victim is far from reality. He emphasized that the Kashmir dispute remains unresolved even after seven decades, and India cannot erase its ongoing state oppression in occupied Jammu and Kashmir through false narratives.
Pakistan condemns India's false narrative
Reacting strongly to the Indian Prime Minister’s comments, the Foreign Office accused Modi of deliberately ignoring the Kashmir dispute while falsely blaming Pakistan for terrorism. The spokesperson stated that India is fabricating misleading narratives to divert attention from its own involvement in acts of violence and sabotage on foreign soil.
"Instead of blaming others, India should reflect on its own record, which includes state-sponsored assassinations, sabotage, and terrorism abroad," the spokesperson asserted, adding that the false narrative is being fabricated to fuel terrorism on Pakistani soil.
India’s actions undermine peace in South Asia
Pakistan reiterated its commitment to constructive engagement and results-oriented dialogue, emphasizing that India’s anti-Pakistan rhetoric is damaging regional stability and hindering prospects for peace and cooperation between the two nations.
The spokesperson further stated that India’s aggressive policies and hegemonic ambitions have come at the cost of peace and stability in South Asia. He urged India to abandon its confrontational approach and work towards resolving disputes through diplomatic means.
Pakistan reaffirmed its stance that meaningful dialogue, rather than hostility, is the only way forward for lasting peace in the region.
