Punjab Police faced a major setback as SSP Imran Kishwar, who was involved in the arrest of PTI founder, has resigned. He submitted his resignation after being overlooked for promotion for the second consecutive time.
DIG Imran Kishwar, head of the JIT investigating the May 9 cases, has resigned from his position. In his resignation letter addressed to the Punjab IG, Kishwar stated that he had upheld his oath with unwavering commitment and had paid a personal price multiple times. However, he now stands at a crossroads where continuing service is no longer possible.
He wrote that history would bear witness to his honorable service and that he could no longer remain silent. According to police sources, Imran Kishwar was denied promotion to DIG rank for the second time by the promotional board, prompting him to resign in protest.
