The Pakistani rupee gained slight ground against the US dollar in today's interbank trading session, while the stock market witnessed a downward trend.
According to currency dealers, the US dollar depreciated by 7 paisas in the interbank market, settling at Rs.280 flat. The greenback had closed at Rs.280.07 during the previous day's trading session.
Meanwhile, bearish sentiment dominated the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) as the benchmark 100 Index shed 439 points during today's trading. The index dropped to 113,916 points compared to yesterday's closing position of 114,356 points.
