Prince William, the Prince of Wales, held his first official meeting with England’s new football manager, Thomas Tuchel, at Windsor Castle, marking his return to royal duties following a family holiday in the Caribbean.
Kensington Palace released a photograph of the meeting, with the prince, who has been the patron of England’s Football Association (FA) since July 2024, expressing his enthusiasm for the national team’s future.
“Great to meet with new @england men’s manager Thomas Tuchel today, and hear about plans for the team,” Prince William stated in a message shared on social media.

According to royal aides, the meeting provided an opportunity for Tuchel, who took over as England’s manager earlier this year, to outline his vision for the team and discuss their progress since his appointment.
The Prince of Wales, a well-known Aston Villa supporter, was also accompanied by FA CEO Mark Bullingham. Reports suggest that William spoke about the ongoing success of his club during the conversation.
Tuchel, a former German footballer and manager of clubs such as Chelsea and Bayern Munich, is set to lead England in his first match against Albania next month.
