Senator Faisal Vawda has made explosive claims regarding the events of May 9, 2023, and the murder of journalist Arshad Sharif, stating that if the latter case is thoroughly investigated, several high-profile individuals will face serious consequences.
Speaking on 'Nadeem Malik Live', Vawda alleged that the May 9 incidents were pre-planned in the presence of PTI Founder Imran Khan. He also claimed that former ISI chief Lt Gen (retd) Faiz Hameed had the backing of Imran Khan as the prime minister, which was why he was powerful and would be court-martialled.
Arshad Sharif’s case
Faisal Vawda reiterated his longstanding claim that journalist Arshad Sharif was murdered and not killed accidentally. “If this case is reopened, some very powerful individuals will find themselves in serious trouble,” he asserted. He further stated that Sharif was as close to the establishment as he was to the PTI, suggesting that the journalist was killed in friendship.
"If a nexus is revealed, a lot will be gleaned out of it," Vawda insisted.
Bushra Bibi’s alleged influence
During the show, Vawda also claimed that Imran Khan’s wife, Bushra Bibi, had significant control over all sorts of matters during the PTI’s rule. He alleged that former Punjab chief minister Usman Buzdar and Farah Gogi were both “products of Bushra Bibi.”
According to Vawda, several politicians, including then-federal ministers, showed extreme deference to Bushra Bibi. “Ministers used to stand before her with folded hands, and even then chief minister Usman Buzdar would sit on the floor before her inside a plane,” he claimed.
Humayun Mohmand
Meanwhile, PTI leader Humayun Mohmand questioned the narrative surrounding the May 9 riots. He pointed out that despite two years having passed, no concrete evidence of PTI’s involvement in acts of sabotage has surfaced.
“If anything illegal happened, it should be exposed, but there is no proof of deliberate destruction,” Mohmand said.
